Xiang Gully
A gully lying 42 km north of Guiyang’s city proper, where a winding river
and green mountains covered in luxuriant bamboo groves present an elegant
landscape What makes this gully special is its papermaking industry A massive
group of 42waterwheel mills and 100 troughs demonstrate the ancient art
of papermaking , using the power of water and the most primitive techniques
Their products are for burning in sacrificial ceremonies There are also
numerous vistas to enjoy in this 300-metre-deep gully.
