Luguang River
¡¡¡¡On the outskirts of Gulyang lie numerous rivers and valleys among them is Wujiang, the largest river of Guizhou province. Upstream of the Wujiang Rive, called Luguang River, runs through the borders between Xiuwen and Xifeng counties in the south and Qianxi and Jinsha in the north In 1979,the Wujiangdu Hydro-electricity Station was built and a vast lake formed in what already impressively deep gorges.
¡¡¡¡Held within the steep cliffs, the lake is 350-400metres in depth The gorges, sometimes wide and sometimes narrow, offer ever-changing vistas of waterfall, streams and mountains Sailing along Luguang River, through the 40 km section from Baima (White Horse)Shoal to Sister peaks, popularly known as the Seven Gorges of Luguang, brings no less than 25 breathtaking sights In White Horse Gorge, the first of the seven, a huge rock standing on top of the mountain resembles a vulture spreading its wings ,The white rapids in the gorge brought about the name for both the shoal and the gorge, Houchou (Monkey worrying)Gorge, signifies its thrilling situation On its left bank, rising 80 metres into the air ,is a big limestone cave, inside which thousands of swallows have built their nests .

  ¡¡¡¡Luguang Ferry near Luguang Town is usually the starting point for the Seven Gorges tour Downstream from the ferry is the third of the Seven Gorges, the 500-metre-long Flying Dragon Gorge, A rock named Dragon-pacifying peak gives the appearance of a huge wall built on the bank,
From the top of this peak, six waterfalls drop, echoing the huge one on the opposite bank cascading 100 metres deep.
¡¡¡¡The next section is a lake 300 metres wide, Behind a Miao village on the bank, a kilometre-long cliff stands 100 metres high The various colors reflecting from is surface have given it the name Huamiao Xiupun, or Embroidered Skirt of the Floral Miao.
¡¡¡¡And so is continues throughout the Seven Gorges of Luguang, each one of them waiting to intoxicate you with its own enchanting surprise.
