Kaiyang Canyon: A Wonderland for
Ecotours
¡¡¡¡Over time, the movements of the earth¡¯s crust caused the collapse of the
underground limestone caves in the area, creating a bigger, deeper canyon,
Where Nanjiang River runs through Kaiyang County, 54 km north of Guiyang,
its rapids run through the mountains along this canyon. Today the Kaiyang
Canyon is 40 km long, with a maximum depth of 320 mertes, An 18.5km section

ecotour, canoeing along the river and learning about the lifestyles of the

¡¡¡¡White-water rafting is the most thrilling attraction for
energetic travellers to the canyon. There are numerous fascinating peaks,
caves and breathtaking shoals along the 14km rafting course In the scenic
area of Tizi (Ladder) Cliff, the steep banks sandwiching the narrow river
appear to have been chopped by a giant axe. At the end of an 800-merte-long
funnel-shaped section, the river becomes so narrow that the branches section,
the river becomes so narrow that the branches of the trees growing on opposite
banks overlap.
